About The Course

Time and temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products, such as vaccines, medicines, and other healthcare items, require specific handling, monitoring, process controls, transportation, and storage. This e-learning course provides an understanding of these commodity specifics and the requirements for packaging, documentation, and physical handling. It covers product and transport process temperature ranges, packaging technologies, key risk factors, and critical control points in the pharma handling process.

Course Objective

Upon completing this course you will have the skills to:

  • Recognize differences in pharmaceutical products and their main characteristics.

  • Identify various pharmaceutical product packaging types, transport equipment, and active/passive shipping systems.

  • Discuss regulatory requirements for handling and transporting time and temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products.

  • Describe the roles and responsibilities of air freight supply chain stakeholders and identify important process milestones.

  • Manage the requirements for documentary and physical handling of pharmaceutical shipments in air freight.

This course is recommended for:

  • Cargo agents

  • Freight forwarders

  • All staff involved in the transport and handling of pharmaceutical products

  • Airline staff and shippers transporting time and temperature sensitive healthcare products

  • Primary producers or manufacturers of pharmaceutical and healthcare goods

Course Exam & Certification


  • Exam Method: Unsupervised online exam. The exam/assessment can be taken at any time at your convenience.

  • Exam Format: Multiple-choice questions

  • Number of questions: 14

  • Time Allowance: 45 minutes

  • Passing Grade: 80% correct answers

  • Number of Exam Attempts: 2


Certifications


Participants who successfully pass the final exam will be awarded:

  • IATA & KHDA Certificates are awarded to participants successfully passing the final exam.

  • A Dangerous Goods Regulations Certificate, approved by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), will also be awarded.

  • An internship at Ras Al-Khaimah International Airport, UAE, is included.
