Introduction

Health and Safety in the Workplace is aimed at all employees. It is intended for learners already in workplaces and those who are preparing to start or return to work. It is also very useful for young persons to raise their ability to identify and understand hazards when preparing for work experience.


Course Aim

To provide the health and safety knowledge and awareness of all delegates.


Objective

Delegates will be able to understand the principles of health and safety and to apply that knowledge to reduce the risk of injury to themselves and others.


Learning Outcomes: By the end of the training course delegates will be able to know that health and safety is the responsibility.

  • Understand roles and responsibilities
  • Health and safety law
  • The importance of Health and Safety
  • Common causes and factors of accidents and ill health
  • Define the terms ‘Hazard’, ‘Risk’, and 'Risk Assessment"
  • Identify and control the risks from common workplace hazards
  • Describe the principle of the risk control hierarchy
  • Safe system of work and Safety signage
  • Understanding fire and fire-fighting equipment

Course Duration:

6 Days

Certification of attendance.

Assessment: Delegates are assessed throughout the course by instructor observation of the essential skills. There is also a summative assessment of knowledge and skills at the end of this course.

Number of students per course: Maximum 25 Students per course.
